Rugby is NOT for feint of heart.
Thier mother and I barely understand the game. Even afteri playing for four years.
Mom still cannot get used to the gang tackles…rucks…scrum downs…and all that excitement this raw game provides. Even still, we’re there everyweek come rain or shine.
The real draw is the social. The rugby matches do not have home and away…they have hosts and guests. Adult or junior they leave what ever angers each other on the pitch.
Today was a great example of team work from the littlest to the biggest; new player to gifted athlete. The Druids U15 side won the day over the St.Albert Rugby Football Club. It was all over in the first half but St.Albert made a go of it in the second with 2 or 3 tries of their own. Strathcona had 8 or 9…not sure – There’s never a scoreboard when you need one!
